Beckys Beezzzs

Beckys Beezzzs, beekeeping supplies and mated queens in the UK

Beckys Beezzzs is a British beekeeping company that operates an online shop supplying beekeepers across the country. Its catalogue combines the sale of hive products with the breeding and sale of live bees, and it presents itself as a comprehensive supplier for those starting out in the activity, for hobbyists and for experienced beekeepers.

The company was established in 2012 and its team has more than eighty years of combined experience in commercial and backyard beekeeping, according to its own presentation. That background translates into an offering focused both on supplying materials and on practical advice.

Mated queens and nucs of bees

One of the mainstays of the business is the breeding and sale of mated queens. The catalogue includes queens of the Buckfast, Carniolan, Ligustica and Carpathian varieties. The company states that it specialises in breeding Buckfast queens and in producing high-quality six-frame nucs.

In addition to queens, it sells nucs of bees, which allows beekeepers to start or expand their hives with already formed colonies.

Hives and components

The shop offers hives and parts for their assembly and maintenance. Among the available models are National cedar hives, Commercial cedar hives, Langstroth cedar hives and polystyrene nuc hives. The catalogue is completed with frames and wax foundation, as well as items such as escapes, runners and mesh.

Bee feed and treatments

The feed and health section includes products such as Ambrosia syrup in a 12.5 kg container, Ambrosia fondant in a 2.5 kg block, Candipolline Gold pollen substitute in a 1 kg pack and the varroa treatment ApiGuard Gel with thymol trays, VMA approved. VarroCheck is also offered.

Equipment, tools and training

The offering for the beekeeper covers protective suits, smokers and hive tools, equipment for rearing, marking and handling queens, as well as honey jars and processing equipment. The company also sells courses, books and gift vouchers, and maintains a blog with answers to common questions, from how much food bees need in winter to managing queen cells.

Customer service and shipping

Beckys Beezzzs serves its customers by email and telephone, and has FAQ pages about queens and nucs. Shipping is carried out through Royal Mail in different options: second class, first class tracked and tracked and signed. The company presents itself as a team of beekeepers supplying both beginners and professional beekeepers across the country.
