DS Movements, residential and commercial removals in Cambridgeshire

DS Movements is a removals company based in Ely, in the English county of Cambridgeshire, providing residential, commercial and office relocation services both locally and throughout the United Kingdom. The company presents itself as an established firm in the area, with over 350 five-star reviews according to its own count, and has been operating since 2019.

Its activity is structured around a fully managed service from start to finish: advance planning, specialist packing, secure loading, transport and, when requested by the client, unpacking. The company emphasises that each move is tailored to the characteristics of the property, the timescales and the specific needs of the client.

Removals and logistics services

The service catalogue includes several options that can be contracted separately or in combination:

• House removals, with professional packing and careful handling of fragile or high-value items such as fine china, glassware, antiques and works of art.
• Commercial removals and office relocations, planned to minimise disruption to business activity.
• Man and van service for smaller transport needs.
• Secure and flexible storage in Cambridgeshire, available for short or long stays.
• National removals across the UK, including Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The company states that it has a fleet of specialist vehicles that allows it to handle moves of different sizes with the same level of planning and care.

Geographic coverage and local knowledge

In addition to Ely, DS Movements serves Cambridge, Newmarket, Haverhill, Huntingdon and nearby towns, as well as areas of Suffolk. The company highlights its knowledge of the terrain in Cambridgeshire, which it applies to the planning of each move, and specifically mentions towns such as Soham and Waterbeach. For long-distance moves, it covers the whole of the United Kingdom.

Client profile and accumulated experience

The company works with both individuals and businesses. In the residential sphere, it manages moves of family homes and unique properties, including experience in relocating equestrian estates and country houses in the Newmarket area. In the professional sphere, it coordinates office relocations and commercial operations. The company states that its team has more than twenty years of combined experience and a track record since 2019 built around attention to detail and discretion.

Booking process and quotation

The procedure described by the company begins with an online form in which the client details their needs. The team then assesses the requirements and proposes the next steps. If the client accepts, a survey is arranged on a date that suits them and, within 24 hours of the survey being completed, a free quote is sent. Once approved, the moving day is set and the move is carried out with the company's professional means and equipment. According to the company, the quote can also be prepared remotely depending on the type of move.

Packing, protection and storage

The full packing service includes the protection of delicate and high-value items with quality materials. The company notes that its operatives are trained in specialist packing and transport techniques, and that goods are covered throughout the entire moving process. Storage, for its part, is presented as a secure and flexible solution for short transitions or longer-term needs, with the same level of care and discretion as in a move.

Awards and industry affiliation

DS Movements states that it is a member of Move Assured, an accreditation and monitoring programme for the sector, and supports its reputation with more than 350 five-star reviews, in addition to the more than 200 it mentions in its corporate presentation. The company also publishes informative content about moving on its blog, with guides on relocating to areas such as Newmarket, the Cambridge Science Park area or Hinchingbrooke, in Huntingdon.
