Practice areas for individuals

The firm covers a broad range of civil and private client matters, including:

  • Conveyancing, including buy-to-let properties.
  • Boundary disputes and disputes with neighbours.
  • Wills and probate.
  • Family asset protection and reporting inheritance tax.
  • Lasting Power of Attorney.
  • Court of Protection matters.
  • Care home fees.
  • Advice on equity release schemes.

Employment law, business law and debt collection

The firm also advises businesses. Its range of services includes employment law, settlement / compromise agreements, debt collection and Small Claims Court disputes, as well as commercial law, including buying and selling businesses.

Initial consultation and how we work

The firm offers an initial 30-minute consultation at a reduced charge of £75.00 plus VAT. This charge is deducted from the final balance should the client decide to proceed with the firm. Clients are asked to bring any relevant documentation, such as medical reports, and are expressly asked not to bring in forms for review, as a separate form checking service is available.

Free choice of solicitor in conveyancing

In conveyancing, the firm stresses that clients may choose their own solicitor and are not obliged to use the one recommended by the estate agent, which may sometimes be a call centre with no personal contact and more expensive.

Team and background

Graham Ettinger combines commercial and legal experience: he spent 15 years in business before being admitted to the Law Society as a solicitor in January 1998, and has over 22 years of practice. Sarah McCaffrey joined the firm as a trainee solicitor and assists with services including employment law, wills and probate; before joining the firm she worked for an employment advisory service, where she advised employers on employment documentation and tribunal matters.

The firm is authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
