About Code Kids Robotics
Code Kids Robotics: coding and robotics for children aged 7 and up
Code Kids Robotics is a British STEM enrichment company that teaches children aged 7 and over to code and build robots. Its offering combines after-school and weekend term-time classes, full-day holiday camps, one-to-one tutoring, parties and enrichment workshops within schools. The company presents itself as a project born from parents who identified gaps in the technology skills taught in mainstream education.
Learning formats
The catalogue is organised into five formats:
- Holiday camps: immersive, project-based learning during full-day sessions.
- Term-time classes: after-school and weekend sessions.
- 1:1 tutoring: individual work with an approach tailored to each student.
- Parties and events: fun activities with an educational component.
- School workshops: coding and enrichment clubs within educational centres.
Content: robotics, video games and programming languages
The programmes cover robotics with VEXcode, coding with Micro:bit, app development, design thinking and stop motion animation through filmmaking and story development. In the engineering and coding area, students work with Lego, artificial intelligence with Cozmo and coding with Sphero. The game development strand includes modifying Minecraft and Roblox and creating original games. In coding, Scratch, JavaScript, Python and Swift are used, among other languages. The company notes that its offering evolves continuously to incorporate the latest technologies.
