Flexistore

Flexistore, mobile self storage in the United Kingdom

Flexistore is a British mobile self storage company that has been operating since 2002. Its approach is to bring the storage facility to the customer: instead of the customer taking their belongings to a facility, the company delivers a storage vault to the door of their home or business, the customer loads and locks it, and Flexistore collects it, places it in one of its warehouses and returns it when needed. The company states that this system can save up to 75% of the time compared with traditional self storage.

Storage services

Flexistore's range is organised into several service lines:

• Student storage: a solution designed for moves and academic periods.
• Domestic storage: for individuals who need to store furniture or belongings during a move, renovation or change of home.
• Business storage: flexible space for business materials, furniture or stock.
• Records Management: secure custody of documents.
• Warehousing and pallet storage: logistics storage services for businesses.

The company offers short and long term contracts, and does not charge for accessing the vault while it is in storage.

How the service works

The process consists of three steps. First, Flexistore delivers the vault to the address provided using a secure trailer and supplies as many vaults as needed. The customer then loads and locks it, choosing the time and place. Finally, the company collects the loaded vault and takes it to its warehouse. Among the advantages highlighted by the company are redelivery to the home, no unloading at the storage facility and no need to hire a van.

Warehouse network and coverage

Flexistore has three operational warehouses in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Manchester, and serves Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Manchester. The Edinburgh warehouse is in Newbridge, next to the airport with access from the M9; the Manchester one is five minutes from Junction 5 of the M60. The head office is located at Lochend Industrial Estate, Newbridge, Edinburgh.

Industry recognition

The company displays the Storage Facility of the Year 2025/2026 award, an industry recognition shown on its website.
