New Haven Building Company

New Haven Building Company, full-scale renovations in Edinburgh and the Lothians

New Haven Building Company is an Edinburgh-based construction company that presents itself as a home renovation specialist and describes itself as an all-trades company operating in the city and throughout the Lothians. Its work covers everything from the initial design and planning of a project through to its completion, including the selection of materials.

The company states that it has completed over one hundred projects and maintains that its approach is based on listening to the client's needs before work begins, adapting the method to each job rather than applying a uniform solution.

Renovation and building services

The company's service catalogue is organised around six main areas:

• Extensions: home extensions that can incorporate a new kitchen, a living room, a dining area or an additional bedroom.
• Attic conversions: transforming dark or draughty attics into usable living spaces.
• Structural alterations: knocking down walls or changing the existing layout, which involves installing steel beams.
• General renovations: renovation of bathrooms and kitchens, among other spaces.
• Bathrooms: upgrades aimed at improving the comfort and style of the bathroom.
• Kitchens: renovation of one of the rooms the company considers most important in the home.

In addition to these categories, the website indicates that the company offers other renovation services not detailed on the main page.

Project management and working method

One of the features the company highlights is full project management. Ross, the company owner, coordinates each phase so that the work progresses without interruption, a task the company attributes to years of experience on projects that require communication and forward planning.

The process described on the website consists of four steps: an initial call or contact to establish the client's needs; a visit from a member of the team to review the plans and prepare a free quote; signing the terms and the contract; and carrying out the work through to completion.

The company states that it covers all the necessary trades, so the client does not have to hire other professionals separately. Among the trades it mentions are roofers, painters, electricians, builders and carpet fitters.
