Dundee Motorcycle Training is a motorcycle training school based in Dundee, United Kingdom. The company was formed in August 2010 and is headed by Peter Robertson, who together with Jim is a fully qualified Cardington DVSA, CBT and DAS Instructor. Kev completes the team as a down trained CBT Instructor.

The activity focuses on teaching safe motorcycle riding, with an approach that the company itself describes as positive, relaxed and aimed at exceeding the standard required in the official tests.

Courses and access levels

The course catalogue covers the entire training progression of the British motorcycle access system:

• Compulsory Basic Training (CBT), the mandatory basic training.
• Restricted Access.
• Progressive Access.
• Direct Access Scheme (DAS).

In addition to these programmes, refresher and post-test sessions are available for those who already hold a full licence. The offer covers everyone from the complete beginner to the more experienced rider.

Intensive courses and scheduling

Intensive courses are in demand according to the company, which can arrange them on request. However, the school itself points out that, although they are structured, it is preferable to spread them over several weeks, as this fits better with test dates and reduces pressure on the trainee.

Fleet and equipment

The school has a fleet of motorbikes and scooters ranging from 50 cc to 650 cc, available for students to use during training. In terms of safety, it offers motorcycle helmets and gloves, as well as a limited amount of protective clothing; the company indicates that having your own kit is the better option.
