Dumfries MOT Centre

MOT test centre and vehicle servicing in Dumfries

Dumfries MOT Centre is an independent MOT testing station approved by VOSA and DVSA, located on Heathhall Industrial Estate in Dumfries. Its facilities, described by the company itself as newly built and purpose-designed for this activity, provide testing, servicing and repair services for Class I to IV vehicles.

The garage presents itself as a local business whose mechanics are qualified and live locally, and offers the option of booking an appointment by phone or online.

MOT tests for cars and vans

The centre's main activity is the MOT test for cars and vans, including preparing the vehicle beforehand to pass the test. The company states that it tests all cars and vans in Dumfries and works with vehicles of any make and model.

The service extends to vans and commercial fleet vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. For the latter, the team can take on the full maintenance schedule, with the stated aim of keeping fleet downtime to a minimum.

Multi-brand servicing and repairs

In addition to inspections, the centre carries out servicing and repairs on all types of cars and vans. Among the work it details are tyre changes, oil changes, exhaust replacement and brake checks and repairs, with a mobile fitting service.

Prices and service conditions

The site states that MOT tests are offered at a fixed price from £50, a rate the company places below the £54.85 maximum set by the DVSA. Bookings can be made by phone or online, and the centre provides a tool to check a vehicle's status using its registration number.

Facilities and customer service

While the work is being carried out, customers have free tea or coffee and free WiFi on the premises. The centre is open Monday to Friday morning and afternoon, and Saturday morning, and is closed on Sundays.
