Chummys Bakery
A West Midlands bakery for individually baked brownies, cookies, and other made-to-order treats, with an Allpress coffee shop in Droitwich.
About Chummys Bakery
Chummys Bakery began in founder Hope’s kitchen, where she learned to bake alongside her grandmother. The first boxes went from the family table to friends, then to a customer base that grew through word of mouth. The brand began taking orders in 2020; six years later, by its account, a team of about 20 works at its West Midlands bakery, and its first public coffee shop welcomes visitors in Droitwich.
Brownies define the bakery’s approach. Each one is baked as an individual portion, with firm edges and a soft center, rather than cut from a large slab. The recipe uses 70% dark chocolate and is made in small batches after an order comes in. The menu offers several flavors and boxes of six or twelve, making it possible to sample a mix or put together a shareable assortment.
The range also includes blondies, thick New York–style cookies, bronuts, cupcakes, and scones, along with afternoon tea boxes and gift assortments. The company makes its vegan brownies with a separate recipe. It says its brownies are suitable for vegetarians and contain no alcohol. Ingredients and allergens are listed by flavor on the website, giving customers a way to check what goes into a bake before ordering or sending a box to someone else.
Online orders remain an important part of the business. Chummys bakes boxes to order and sends them with tracking to destinations across the UK; the time an order is placed determines the earliest available delivery day, and the shipping page explains Saturday options. Customers can add a printed gift card, so brownies, blondies, or cookies can be sent as a present without having to package them at home.
For corporate orders, the bakery offers boxes and treats for business gifts and can coordinate delivery to more than one address. That makes the catalog useful for sending a small gift to teams, clients, or contacts in different locations, with each box prepared around the selected flavors. Shipping terms, lead times, and availability depend on the product and destination and are shown during checkout.
The coffee shop on The Row, just off Hanbury Street, is Chummys’ first walk-in location. Customers can sit down or take a box to go. The counter serves Allpress espresso in flat whites and iced lattes, as well as matcha and hot chocolate; oat, semi-skimmed, and whole milk are available, with decaf on request. Brownies, blondies, and cookies from the bakery share the case with Peter Cooks pastries and bread baked in the Malvern Hills.
The company distinguishes between two locations: the public coffee shop in Droitwich and its production unit at Unit 7, Enterprise Trading Estate, in Brierley Hill, where postal orders are baked and packed. The bakery is not open to visitors, so it should not be mistaken for a second shop. In Droitwich, the offer centers on coffee and fresh bakes; online, customers can choose boxes by flavor, occasion, and delivery option.
