Luminosity Designs Ltd

Designer lighting with its own showroom in Driffield

Luminosity Designs Ltd is a lighting retailer with a showroom in Driffield, Yorkshire, describing itself as a family business operating since 2018. Its offer focuses on decorative indoor and outdoor lighting, with a selection the company describes as hard to find in mainstream retail and design-oriented.

The firm combines online sales with physical visits to the showroom, where customers can see and touch products before deciding. The website states free shipping on orders over £50 and operates with prices in pounds sterling for the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man.

Advice and product selection

Among the arguments the company highlights are the direct, personal service typical of an independent, family-run business, decades of experience in choosing lighting, and a stocking policy limited to designs it would consider suitable for its own home. The website also mentions the possibility of commissioning created or restored pieces.

Indoor lighting catalogue

The indoor range covers a wide variety of types:

• Decorative flush fittings, semi-flush fittings and downlights.
• Single pendant lights, multi-drop and bar lights, and multi-armed fittings.
• Wall lights, task lamps, table lamps and floor lamps.
• Surface spotlights and bars, and track lighting systems.
• Chandeliers, indoor lantern lights and circular ring pendants.
• Sputnik or starburst pendants, statement pieces and novelty lighting.
• Recessed and paintable lighting, as well as plaster-in models.

Outdoor, garden and bathroom

The outdoor section includes wall lights and ceiling flush fittings, floor lights, recessed lights and sensor lights. For gardens and decorative areas, it offers solar lighting, LED fairy lights, festoon lighting, neon and rope light, outdoor silhouettes and figures, power supplies and accessories, and the Delores Connectable Garden Lighting system. In the bathroom range there are wall lights, bulkhead flush fittings, spotlights, decorative lighting and mirrors.

For commercial and non-decorative uses, it has batten fittings, bulkhead lights, floodlights, highbay fittings and LED panels.

Bulbs, shades and spare parts

The catalogue is completed by a technical section designed to maintain and adapt installations: capsule bulbs, candle bulbs, golf ball bulbs, standard GLS bulbs, spotlight and directional bulbs, decorative coloured and shaped bulbs — including vintage styles —, LED replacements for fluorescent tubes and appliance bulbs, as well as lamp adaptors for LED only.

In shades, it offers fabric shades, vintage-style pleated and shaped shades, modern manufactured shades, one-of-a-kind and custom glass shades, reclaimed glass shades, versions for E27/ES, E14/SES and G9 caps, special fixings, metal and cage shades, and wicker and wood shades with their accessories.

Other categories in the store

Alongside lighting, the shop stocks energy-efficient fans and heaters, switches and sockets — with white plastic rounded edge, screwless metal, flat plate and squared edge metal lines, plus switch/socket back boxes —, and furnishings, gifts and art such as mirrors, ornamental homewares, Kitty B Bears, jewellery and accessories, greetings cards and stationery, furniture, soft furnishings and art. It also sells electrical supplies and spare parts: lamp parts and maintenance, ceiling and hanging parts, lampholders and fixings, cables and flexes, chandelier crystal and spares, switches and plugs, lighting parts and kits, electronics, batteries and various electrical sundries, with IP-rated and metal-clad references and smart home products.

Bardot collection and seasonal new arrivals

The website highlights the Bardot collection, Art Deco style, with wall lights and flush fittings in faux alabaster, some with metal panels, and round pendants or semi-flush fittings of 45, 59 and 74 centimetres with different numbers of E14 lampholders and chains from one to two metres. The catalogue showed these items at reduced prices compared with the regular price.

The shop also announced new outdoor lighting for autumn 2026, with launches in September, and included among its featured products wall lights such as Spira, Belial, Fuller and the Merchant Navigator forged bulkhead.
