Send My Bag
Door-to-door shipping for luggage, boxes, and personal belongings on domestic and international routes.
About Send My Bag
A suitcase that feels heavy in a station can make the journey separately. Send My Bag arranges pickup and delivery of luggage, boxes of personal belongings, and certain sports equipment between addresses on domestic and international routes. The traveler moves independently; the shipment follows the network of carriers used by the platform.
The idea began, the company says, after a 2006 trip by its founder Adam. He was helping move his partner’s university belongings between England and Northern Ireland when he faced both the effort of carrying several bags and an excess-baggage charge. His earlier experience shipping musical instruments suggested an alternative: send the belongings separately.
Booking starts with the origin, destination, weight, dimensions, and pickup date. The system quotes the specific route and explains how to prepare labels and documents. A driver collects the items at the stated address and they are delivered to the contracted destination. Tracking follows their progress, although the estimated arrival can depend on carriers and customs checks.
Students changing residences, people relocating abroad, and travelers carrying bulky equipment are natural users. The company says it covers thousands of routes and also handles domestic shipping within countries including the UK, United States, Australia, and Italy. Routes do not all accept the same goods or follow the same timetable: check the quote, prohibited-item rules, and import requirements before booking.
Premium Collection, where offered for a route, adds a narrower pickup window and other collection assistance. The app lets customers record photos of contents, receive notifications, and track a shipment. These are additions to the core service, not a promise that every driver can enter any building or move unprepared items.
Send My Bag publishes terms for packaging, labels, prohibited items, cover, and international documents. For cross-border shipments, the sender remains responsible for accurately declaring the contents. Travel documents, medication, and essentials for the first hours of a trip deserve different treatment from a box of clothes that may arrive later.
The company originated in Northern Ireland and serves customers through its website, app, and support team; its administrative address is not a luggage drop-off counter. Its usefulness becomes clear when considering the whole journey: shipping cost, days without the bags, possible customs steps, and the freedom to move without hauling them. That comparison, rather than a starting price, determines when it makes sense to let a suitcase travel on its own.
