The Shutter Tree

The Shutter Tree: made-to-measure shutters in Dartford and the South East of England

The Shutter Tree is a family-run company based in Dartford (Kent) dedicated to the design, measuring and installation of made-to-measure interior shutters. With over 21 years of experience in the sector, it presents itself as the only woman-owned, women-led shutter business in the area, with an all-female team headed by Amaya. The company supports every project from the first measurement through to the final installation, paying particular attention to the alignment, spacing and fit of the shutters within the window frame.

Shutter styles and materials

The Shutter Tree's catalogue covers a wide variety of interior shutter styles, all made in the UK. Available options include:

• Bay window shutters
• Full height shutters
• Tier on tier shutters
• Cafe shutters
• Solid shutters
• Shaped shutters
• Blackout shutters
• Perfect Fit shutters
• Security shutters

The company also sells blinds, with cordless Venetian, Venetian, day and night, Clic, Roman, roller and blackout models. It also offers fly screens and blackout screens.

How we work

The service begins with a free, no-obligation design appointment at the customer's home. During that visit, Amaya presents the product range, takes precise measurements and offers personalised advice, as well as a no-obligation quote. Once the shutters have been manufactured, the team travels to carry out the installation and, when finished, cleans and tidies the space. The company takes measurements by hand, taking every angle and detail into account, and adjusts the shutters so they open and close smoothly.

Colours, finishes and energy efficiency

Shutters can be painted or stained, and the company offers the possibility of matching a specific colour from a sample provided by the customer. The catalogue includes numerous colour and finish options. As for energy efficiency, the company notes that its shutters help keep rooms cool in summer and warm in winter, which can translate into long-term energy savings.

Warranty and geographic coverage

The Shutter Tree offers a 10-year warranty on its products. The company operates in Dartford and across Kent and the South East of England, with coverage in towns such as Sutton at Hone, Darenth, Hawley, Bean, Stone, Temple Hill, Greenhithe, New Barn, Swanscombe, Southfleet, Wilmington, Longfield, Bexleyheath, Bexley, Sidcup, Sevenoaks, Swanley, Hartley, New Ash Green, Wrotham, Belvedere, Welling, Petts Wood, Orpington, Gravesend, Bromley, West Malling, Rochester, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells.
