Salt Giant

Salt Giant, specialist in de-icing salt and water treatment in the UK

Salt Giant is a British supplier of salt and related products operating through its online store. The company presents itself as a national supplier for households and businesses, with fast delivery and free shipping on orders over £25. Its catalogue is organised into several categories: de-icing salt, water softener salt, pool salt, ice melt and accessories.

Products for home and business

Salt Giant's range covers various applications. For de-icing, it sells rock salt and fine-grain salt, as well as ice melts such as calcium chloride and urea, supplied in granular form. The company explains that fine-grain salt dissolves quickly and acts fast, while coarse-grain salt takes longer but its effect lasts longer. De-icing granules, for their part, are less corrosive and less harmful to wildlife and materials, and remain effective at very low temperatures.

For domestic use, water softener salt is offered in tablet, granular and block form, adapting to different types of softeners. The company states that this product helps extend the life of appliances such as kettles, boilers and dishwashers by reducing limescale build-up. For pools and hot tubs, it sells pool salt with a purity above 99.9%, which when dissolved allows chlorinators to generate chlorine continuously and keep the water clean without the strong smell of traditional chlorine.

Brands and pack formats

Salt Giant works with the Aquasol and Granulite brands. Products are usually supplied in 25-kilogram bags, although 10-kilogram formats and full or half pallets are also available for wholesale orders. The company notes that most orders are delivered in 25 kg bags for ease of handling, and that bulk purchases can be requested via its contact page or by phone.

Product quality and origin

According to the company's information, the salt it sells contains more than 99.9% sodium chloride (NaCl) and comes from the world's largest salt producers, based in Belgium and the Netherlands. The site describes three types of extraction: vacuum salt, the purest, obtained from underground deposits and evaporated under vacuum; rock salt, extracted from mines and of coarser grain; and sea salt, of coarse grain and lower purity. The company highlights that vacuum salt is the purest and contains no metals or other impurities, which prevents sediment when dissolved.

Salt Giant offers delivery within two working days and allows you to select the delivery date during checkout. The company keeps all its products in stock so they can be dispatched quickly.
