E.ON Next, electricity and gas supplier for homes

E.ON Next is a domestic energy supplier operating in the UK that presents itself as a customer-focused company. It supplies electricity and gas to more than five million customers and offers tariffs tailored to different consumption profiles, as well as discounts on home energy technology.

Electricity and gas tariffs

The tariff range includes several options. The Next Pledge Tracker tariff guarantees energy prices below the Ofgem price cap, with estimated savings of £50 based on average annual consumption. The Next Fixed 12m and 24m tariffs keep prices fixed for the duration of the contract. The Next Flex Variable tariff adjusts prices up or down according to the wholesale market. For electric vehicles, the Next Drive Smart tariff offers electricity at 8.5p per kWh between 12am and 6am, with 42 off-peak hours per week, smart charging through the E.ON Next app, fixed prices for one year and no exit fees.

Account management and mobile app

Customers can manage their supply through an online account and a mobile app that allows them to check daily and weekly consumption, view simplified bills, manage payments and receive personalised energy-saving tips. The company also offers a customer service team with dedicated energy specialists.

Discounts on energy technology

E.ON Next sells solar panels, EV chargers, home batteries and heat pumps, with exclusive offers for its customers. The range shows discounts of up to £200 on solar panels, up to £30 on EV chargers and up to £200 on air source heat pumps. It also offers up to £1,000 savings on Sunsynk or Tesla batteries and a referral programme that gives a £50 voucher to both the customer and the person referred.

Dynamic tariff for solar batteries

The Next Optimise tariff, with dynamic import and export, is designed to track wholesale market prices and optimise solar battery output using artificial intelligence and machine learning models through a new app.

Switching supplier

The switching process can be completed within up to five working days. E.ON Next handles communication with the previous supplier, including sending final meter readings, and asks the customer for opening readings through their online account. The company offers the Energy Switch Guarantee for a safe and fast switch.

VAT reduction

E.ON Next will automatically apply a VAT reduction from 5% to 0% on electricity bills across all its domestic tariffs between 1 October 2026 and 31 March 2027, in response to a change in government policy.
