Downtown Sports

Downtown Sports, official American sports merchandise in the UK

Downtown Sports is a British store dedicated to selling official merchandise from the major American sports leagues. Its catalogue is organised around four competitions: the National Football League (NFL), the National Hockey League (NHL), the National Basketball Association (NBA) and Major League Baseball (MLB). The company presents itself with the motto "American Sports. Southern Hospitality", a combination of American sports merchandise and friendly Southern-inspired service.

Catalogue by league and product type

The range is structured by league, making it easy to quickly find items for a specific team. In addition to the four major leagues, the store includes a section for collectible sports cards. Featured products in the catalogue include outerwear, hats, thermal mugs and signed items.

• NFL: hoodies, knit hats and thermal mugs for teams such as the Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Wild (the latter in the NHL).
• NHL: official New Era hats and collectibles, such as the puck signed by Kirill Kaprizov.
• NBA and MLB: dedicated sections within the store's navigation.
• Sports cards: a specific section for collectors.

Apparel and accessories from recognised brands

The catalogue includes products from brands such as '47 Brand, New Era and Stanley, always officially licensed by the respective leagues. The hoodies from the '47 Brand NFL x NHL collaboration combine American football and hockey motifs in a single design. New Era hats are available in alternate colours and sizes ranging from XXS to XXXL for hoodies. The Stanley x NFL tumblers are made from stainless steel with double-wall insulation and BPA-free materials, and are dishwasher safe.

Signed and collectible items

Downtown Sports sells signed and authenticated pieces, such as the Minnesota Wild hockey puck signed by Kirill Kaprizov. This item includes an AJ Sports certificate of authenticity, an authentication hologram and a clear display case. The store states that this is the actual item pictured and that each piece comes new, unused and in its original packaging.

Store sections and customer service

The site navigation is organised into the categories Home, NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, Sports cards, New Arrivals, Sale and About Us. The "Last-Chance Locker" section groups discounted items. The company highlights that every order is carefully packed by its team before shipping, with a touch of "Southern hospitality". The site offers the option to create a user account and has an email contact channel.
