Cychemistry

Cychemistry, bicycle workshop and specialist in Chesham

Cychemistry is a bicycle business located in the centre of Chesham, Buckinghamshire, within the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Its work combines bicycle servicing and repairs with the creation of custom builds, unbiased advice and the organisation of rides and trips for its customers.

Servicing and maintenance

The workshop offers a wide range of bicycle servicing options, as well as repairs. Customers can book an appointment to get their current bike tuned up or to fix a fault. The company also has a workspace for those who want a dedicated bicycle environment, away from the home office or other distractions.

Custom builds

Cychemistry's speciality is unique, bespoke bicycles. The company works on custom projects for disciplines such as road, gravel, mountain, BMX, touring and other styles. The customer is involved throughout the creation process and, if they wish, can receive supervision and training to build the bike themselves.

Unbiased advice

Cychemistry does not sell off-the-shelf bikes from major brands. According to its presentation, this decision allows it to maintain free and impartial advice: if a bike does not suit the intended use or the customer's measurements, it will say so. The company states that it knows a wide variety of brands on the market, including some little-known ones, and, when a particular model is suitable, it helps to source it or find a trusted retailer to purchase it from.

Rides and cycling trips

The company organises excursions so that customers can use their bikes in suitable environments. Among the destinations it mentions are the roads of San Remo and Mallorca, the Tuscan Apennines and the mountains of Morzine.

Mark's background

Mark, who runs the business, has almost 30 years of experience in the bicycle industry. He has worked in Amersham, Berkhamsted and High Wycombe, as well as being a Chesham local. Over that career he has developed extensive knowledge of everything to do with bicycles and has practised numerous disciplines. He has a particular fondness for classic mountain and road bikes, especially steel ones.
