The Hanger Store is the online sales brand of CDC, a company that has been supplying the fashion industry since 1987 and specialises in hangers and display items. The store offers a catalogue of 160 different types of hangers and accessories, with same-day dispatch for most orders from its warehouse in Chelmsford (United Kingdom).

A wide and varied catalogue

The range includes natural wood, white, black and dark wood hangers, as well as slimline and premium beechwood models. In plastic, there are black, multicolour, grey and white versions, along with folding travel hangers and models for lingerie and swimwear. The selection also includes velvet hangers, eco hangers made from FSC wood, eco-friendly fibreboard and over 90% recycled plastic, as well as metal hangers with rubber coating, satin padded hangers, eco fibre hangers, kids hangers, non-slip hangers and specific hangers for trousers, skirts, suits, jackets and wedding dresses.

The catalogue is completed with storage and display solutions: heavy-duty clothes rails, garment covers, laundry baskets and pegs, shoe racks, accessory hangers, tagging guns and needles, tagging attachments and tape measures.

Own manufacturing, import and customisation

CDC produces some of its items under its own design in the United Kingdom and works with various international manufacturers to import and distribute both in the British market and in Europe and the rest of the world. The company claims to hold the largest stock of wooden hangers in the United Kingdom, with more than twenty types of natural wood, which normally allows it to dispatch on the same day as the order. It also has its own printing facility to customise hangers.

Alongside its standard catalogue, CDC handles custom and high-end orders according to each client's specific needs.

Customers: from large chains to the home

The company works with fashion brands and retailers, and since 2014, with the launch of its home hanger line, it also sells pack formats to individual customers. Its clientele includes households, offices, hospitality and hotel establishments, boutiques, shop fitters, clothing retailers of all sizes and fashion brands.

History and structure

Founded in 1987 by its managing director, Phil Curry, the company has grown steadily and employs a team of 25 people. The company states its intention to maintain its character as a family-oriented and approachable business, while expanding its specialisation base and global reach to serve large corporate clients. Its distribution centre is located in Chelmsford, Essex.
