The Grove: luxury hotel, spa and golf in Hertfordshire

The Grove presents itself as a countryside retreat on the outskirts of London, in Chandler's Cross, Hertfordshire. The complex brings together accommodation, spa, dining and golf on one site, and is described as a destination 18 miles from central London. In its own communications, the company notes that it was voted the 6th Best Resort in Europe in the Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards 2025.

Accommodation

The room offering includes rooms, suites and cottages, with categories and packages aimed at families, couples and getaways. Among the commercial options featured on the site are Family Breaks, Couples Breaks and various room offers. The Mansion Advance Purchase early booking rate provides 15% off the best available rate when booking at least seven days prior to arrival.

Dining

The complex has five restaurants and dining spaces. The culinary offering includes The Glasshouse, The Stables, Madhu's at The Grove, Afternoon Tea service, sushi in the lounges and Skewd. The seasonal afternoon tea, called Harvest Afternoon Tea, is announced from 30 September with seasonal flavours, freshly baked scones and autumnal pastries.

Sequoia Spa

Sequoia Spa features a 22-metre pool tiled in black mosaics and a Jacuzzi, and offers Bamford treatments. The programme includes treatments and experiences, Spa Days, membership and specific offers. For October, weekend escapes are announced with an 80-minute treatment on selected weekends.

Golf

The 18-hole golf course is a championship course and hosted the British Masters in 2016. The golf offering includes green fees, group golf, the Clarendon Collection, golf tuition, tournaments and The Kingdom at The Grove, a TaylorMade fitting facility described as newly opened and available to book.

Activities and family services

Outdoor activities include archery and axe throwing, as well as the option to borrow a bike or stroll through the grounds. For little ones there is Anouska's Kids Club, OFSTED-registered, which offers adventure and entertainment activities. The grounds also include The Walled Garden and Jemima's Kitchen Garden, and it organises offerings linked to school holidays and the events calendar.

Events, meetings and other services

The complex has spaces for events and meetings, and offers Meeting and Events services. It also has a shop and gift voucher sales, a loyalty programme or newsletter, and information sections on careers, impact and press. The company operates several venues or spaces within the complex, including the various restaurants, the spa and the golf facilities.
