Iron Maidens

Iron Maidens, ironing service with collection and delivery in West Yorkshire

Iron Maidens is a British company dedicated to domestic ironing that operates in Wakefield and its surroundings, in West Yorkshire. Founded by Gill in 2007, the firm presents itself as a "friendly, professional and reliable" service and caters to both one-off orders and regular ironing customers. Since its creation, the owner has brought four more ironers into the team.

Ironing services and service options

The company offers a regular or one-off ironing service to the local area. The service includes collection and delivery to the home, with time slots available between 7:00 and 18:00 depending on the area. The website states that clothes can be returned within 24-48 hours, depending on availability and the size of the order. The company works in a smoke-free and pet-free environment, which it presents as a guarantee that clothes arrive "fresh".

Among the items customers mention are shirts, trousers, dresses, bedding and school uniforms. Clothes are returned on hangers and wrapped in plastic, according to one of the testimonials on the website.

Collection and delivery areas

Iron Maidens covers a large expanse of Wakefield and its surroundings. The website lists, without being exhaustive, the following locations: Lupset, Alverthorpe, Eastmoor, Stanley, Outwood, Featherstone, Crofton, Hemsworth, Horbury, Knottingley and Normanton, as well as other areas within and around Wakefield. The company asks customers to enquire about delivery costs when requesting a quote and offers a map to check whether an address falls within its coverage area.

Two bases in West Yorkshire

The firm operates from two locations: one in Castleford and another in Ossett, both in West Yorkshire. The Castleford base is on Acacia Drive, in the Townville area, and the Ossett base occupies the first floor of premises on Wakefield Road.
