About The Caravan and Motorhome Club
The Caravan and Motorhome Club: campsites and services for travelling with a caravan or motorhome
The Caravan and Motorhome Club, formerly known as The Caravan Club, is a British organisation aimed at owners of caravans, motorhomes, campervans and roof tents. Its activity combines the management of a campsite network with the sale of insurance and breakdown cover, the organisation of tours and a range of technical advice services for its members.
Campsite network in the UK and Europe
The club declares a network of more than 2,200 quality campsites in the UK, including more than 145 Club campsites and more than 2,000 Certificated Locations (CL), small certified sites. These are joined by affiliated campsites and pitches at European campsites across 17 countries. The offer includes pitches with and without electric hook-up, serviced pitches, glamping accommodation, holiday cottages, seasonal pitches, open all year campsites and pop-up summer campsites.
Booking is done through the website, with a map search, late availability and a digital assistant called Lizzie, available 24 hours, which recommends campsites based on travel plans and can send links via WhatsApp after the call.
Insurance, breakdown cover and coverages
The club sells specific insurance for caravans, motorhomes, campervans and cars, as well as home and cycle and e-bike insurance. In the area of breakdown cover it offers MAYDAY breakdown cover for the UK and Red Pennant European cover, along with Red Pennant travel insurance. It also provides documentation and guides for policyholders and for claims handling.
Organised tours and advice for members
The tours offer includes escorted tours in the UK, campsites and crossings in Europe, organised and tailor-made tours worldwide, with destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA and southern Africa. The club publishes brochures and guides, and maintains planning sections with driving tips for Europe, fuel prices and routes.
For those starting out or wanting to improve their equipment, it offers caravan and motorhome courses, technical advice on noseweights, towbar fitting, breakaway cables, rear-view mirrors, awnings, batteries, 12-volt wiring, stabilisers, fridges, toilets, liquefied petroleum gas, microwaves, portable generators and televisions. It also advises on buying and hiring cars, caravans and motorhomes, matching car and caravan, servicing, tyres, security and storage.
Membership, community and member benefits
Club membership gives access to exclusive offers, the Great Savings Guide, the Club Together community, the forum, the club magazine and a members area on the website. Among the promotions listed on the site are 10% off stays at Club campsites in the UK, autumn offers, reduced rates for children and under-fives free, dogs stay free, a £25 rate for selected tours and a £5 deposit for serviced pitches.
