About Carefuel
Carefuel, fuel card comparison and monitoring for businesses
Carefuel is a service aimed at UK businesses looking to reduce their fuel spend. Its approach consists of comparing the fuel card the client uses with other alternatives on the market, facilitating the switch to a better rate and, once formalised, reviewing prices weekly to check that the company does not go back to overpaying. The service is presented as completely free.
How the process works
The starting point is a form that the company describes as completable in about thirty seconds, in which the client states their fuel needs, their fleet vehicles and, if they already have one, the fuel card they currently use. Based on that data, Carefuel applies a comparison algorithm and reports whether a saving is possible compared with the current terms.
If the result is favourable, the company opens a free account for the client and helps them personalise the new cards. After that, monitoring continues periodically: rates are reviewed every week to keep the business on competitive terms without it having to handle the management.
Invoice comparison and switching provider
In addition to the initial form, Carefuel offers a free invoice comparison service. The company can send a recent invoice from its current fuel card provider — the site accepts files of up to 15 MB — and the service analyses the numbers to determine whether there is room for savings. If the client accepts the new proposal, Carefuel takes care of facilitating the switch to the new provider.
Savings and cited clients
The website includes several testimonials from companies that state they have reduced their fuel bill after going through the service. Among them are Martindales Ltd, which according to the material saved £30,000 in a year; Hardwood Landscapes, with an indicated saving of £4,264; and Cema Vending, whose director notes that the company detected an overspend of 14 pence per litre with its previous provider and that the switch puts them on track to save £3,500 a year.
Carefuel puts the annual saving generated for British businesses at more than one million pounds and states that more than 200 companies in the country trust the service to manage their fuel bills.
Complementary services
Alongside fuel card comparison and monitoring, the site mentions other areas of activity: a bulk fuel service and a partners programme. The company also maintains a savings calculator so that interested parties can estimate in advance how much their spend could be reduced.
