About Mainland Aggregates Ltd
Mainland Aggregates Ltd: quarried, recycled and decorative aggregates with nationwide delivery
Mainland Aggregates Ltd is a family-run company dedicated to supplying recycled, quarried and decorative aggregates to both trade and private buyers. The company presents itself as an option for construction and landscaping projects requiring competitively priced materials, drawing on a network of hauliers across the UK to source and distribute its products.
Materials catalogue
The catalogue is organised into several product families. Within quarried aggregates are drainage aggregates, sub-base aggregates, sand and ballast, gabion baskets and gabion stone, permeable aggregates (SuDS systems), rip rap rock armour for slope protection, and walling stone. The recycled line includes recycled drainage aggregates and recycled sub-base aggregates.
In the decorative range, decorative gravels and chippings, decorative pebbles and cobbles, Welsh slate chippings, self-binding gravel and path toppings, gabion and rockery stone, blended chippings and walling stone are offered. The company also supplies equestrian surfaces, with drainage aggregates and sub-base aggregates for riding arenas, as well as membranes for these facilities.
The catalogue is completed with topsoil and mulch, garden and landscaping mulch and bark, geotextile membranes, gravel grids as a cellular paving system, firewood logs and rock salt.
Supply for construction, garden and equestrian equipment
The company states that its flexibility allows it to handle projects of various sizes and meet most requirements. In addition to conventional aggregates, it offers specialist sports and leisure surfaces such as equestrian silica sand and rubber chip. All products are available loose or in bulk bags.
Among the complementary services listed on its website are bulk haulage, bulk bagging service and grab lorry hire.
Delivery and unloading conditions
Delivery is carried out using an 18-tonne rigid vehicle equipped with a tail-lift and manual pump trolley. A level tarmac, concrete or block-paved area is required for unloading, as the trolley cannot operate on grass, gravel or slopes. The lorry, measuring 10m long, 2.8m wide and 4m high, does not have a HIAB crane and cannot lift loads over fences or hedges or deposit bags on grass or gravel. Customers must ensure that access roads and the unloading area are suitable for the vehicle, and report any access issues to the telephone number provided.
Delivery is guaranteed kerbside only, although drivers will try to place the order in the requested area. For orders of ten or more bags or pallets, HIAB crane delivery is available at extra cost.
Customer service and advice
The company states that it offers advice on its products and their applications to help customers choose the most suitable option for their project. The website includes FAQs, delivery information, riding arena and driveway construction guides, as well as a blog and an inspiration gallery.
