Alpha Decking: composite decking, fencing and cladding in the UK

Alpha Decking presents itself as a manufacturer and supplier of composite decking, fencing and cladding, an alternative to traditional wood that the company describes as eco-friendly and easy to install. The company has been operating since 2020 and distributes its products in Essex, Surrey and mainland Britain, with a distribution centre in Braintree (Essex) and sales offices in Reigate (Surrey).

Product catalogue

The Alpha Decking catalogue is organised into several product lines:

• Composite decking: boards in 3.66 m (12 ft) and 2.2 m (7.21 ft) lengths, with two distinct ranges. The Core range offers an anti-slip, low-maintenance design in five colours; the Ultimate range features an Alphashield™ polymer coating and is available in seven colours. The boards have a deep embossed wood grain on one side and traditional decking grooves on the reverse.
• Decking accessories: composite joists, fascia boards, hidden fixings and edge trims, among others.
• Composite fencing: panel sets 6 x 6 ft finished height, compatible with concrete posts using U-channel adapters, or with composite or aluminium posts. The panels have a brushed finish on both sides and are offered in five or seven colours depending on the range (including the Maple range). Fencing components and accessories are also sold separately.
• Composite cladding: slatted cladding with Alphashield™ coating.
• Steel garden gates: steel gates manufactured in the UK, fully assembled and with matching composite panels.

The company states that composite balustrades and new cladding ranges were in development, with launch and shipping planned for Q4 2022 and Q1 2023.

Materials and sustainability

According to the company, the composite boards are made from 60% wood reclaimed from industrial processes and 40% recycled high-density polyethylene. Alpha Decking highlights that its products require little or no maintenance, avoiding common wood problems such as cracking, warping or the need to stain and paint every year. The company states that customers can save compared with wood alternatives and backs its products with a warranty of up to 15 years.

Alpha Decking offers free samples of its products, online calculators for decking, fencing and cladding that help determine the amount of material needed, downloadable installation guides and a trade partner scheme for industry professionals.
