Bookson

Bookson, an online bookstore based in Bolton

Bookson is an online bookseller operating from the United Kingdom that sells a selection of fiction and non-fiction books. Its catalogue ranges from new releases and bestsellers to classics, self-help works, academic materials and children's books. The company presents itself as a business run by readers who personally select the titles it offers.

A catalogue organised by genre and interest

The store groups its products under the common heading "All Books" and displays them with a unit price, visible percentage discounts and the option to add to cart. Among the titles the site showed when analysed were Enough, by Dawn French; Betrayal, by Tom Bower; Bloody Dangerous, by Colin Bell; Strangers: A Memoir of Marriage, by Belle Burden, and The Correspondent, by Virginia Evans. Some of them appeared discounted, with the previous and current price expressly indicated.

Buying, payment and logistics

The platform includes a shopping cart, a user account area and a checkout process the company describes as secure. The site lists among its features order tracking and its own returns and refunds policy, as well as billing and payment terms published alongside the terms of service and the privacy policy. Customer service is handled by email and telephone during office hours.

Promotions and featured selection

The site included an offer of the week section focused on Bloody Dangerous, by Colin Bell, and a block of most popular products in which several of the discounted titles were repeated. These sections reflect the usual turnover of an online bookstore and the prices shown correspond to the time of the analysis.

Business profile

Bookson targets individual readers looking for both recent releases and backlist works, with particular attention to shopping convenience and quickly finding titles. Its proposition combines a focused, curated catalogue with frequent discounts on the recommended retail price.
