About YB Therapy
YB Therapy: holistic therapies for pain and mobility in Blackburn
YB Therapy is an independent practice based in Blackburn, in the East Lancashire region (United Kingdom), dedicated to relieving pain and restoring function through a combination of soft tissue techniques and neurological approaches. Founded by Yasmin Ahmed and active since 2017, the clinic works with a holistic approach that complements conventional medical care and personalises each treatment plan according to each patient's underlying causes.
A personalised approach from the initial assessment
The clinic starts from the premise that two people with similar symptoms may have different origins, so each treatment is designed after a detailed screening process that seeks to identify the root of the problem. The initial assessment and subsequent treatment form part of the service portfolio, along with aftercare follow-up. The stated goal is to offer results effectively and realistically, adapting therapy to each client's body, history and goals.
Services and techniques available
The YB Therapy catalogue brings together several complementary disciplines:
- Bowen Technique: a gentle, holistic therapy that releases tension and supports the body's natural healing processes, working on the nervous system to reduce pain, improve movement and restore balance.
- Back, Neck & Shoulder Massage: the signature treatment of the house, aimed at releasing tension and restoring mobility in the areas of greatest strain.
- Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT): emotional release work that addresses emotional patterns that can influence wellbeing and physical health, helping to reduce stress and emotional blocks.
- McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release (MSTR®): a specific technique for the treatment of scars.
- Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation: an instrumental approach for work on soft tissues.
- TMJ Therapy: treatment directed at the jaw.
- Cupping Therapy: a complementary technique included in the offering.
- Natural Facelift Massage: an aesthetic-facial treatment within the portfolio.
- Massage Therapy: a general massage modality.
Patient profile and conditions treated
The clinic serves a broad spectrum of clients: newborns and children, pregnant women, older adults and athletes, both recreational and high-performance. Among the problems it addresses are lower back pain, neck pain or associated headaches and migraines, rotator cuff injuries and shoulder or arm restrictions, old or recent sports injuries, trapped nerves, hip problems, temporomandibular joint disorder, postural problems and anxiety.
Background and origin of the practice
The founder, Yasmin Ahmed, came to this discipline after a serious traffic accident more than two decades ago, which caused multiple disabling injuries and a long period of physical and emotional pain. After trying medication, exercises and rehabilitation programmes without success, she found in the Bowen Technique a turning point in her recovery. That experience led her to train in the official Bowen programmes and, later, to expand her training with other complementary approaches, including her signature massage, emotional release work with IEMT and various soft tissue therapies. From there, YB Therapy was born in Blackburn.
Recognition and reach
The clinic states that it maintains a 4.9 out of 5 rating on Google and that it receives clients from Blackburn, nearby areas and beyond, many of them referred by family and friends. The practice itself notes that none of its treatments replace medical advice.
