Nom Plates

Custom 4D number plates manufactured in the UK

Nom Plates is a British manufacturer specialising in 4D number plates and custom designs for vehicles. Its range combines road-legal plates with show options, and includes gel, acrylic and ghost or pyramid effect finishes. The company uses its own laser-cutting and acrylic layer-stacking techniques, which allows it to create bespoke pieces and miniature flags.

Range of road-legal and show plates

The offering is organised into several product families:

• Road-legal 4D number plates, with black text and compliance with the BS AU 145e standard.
• Show plates for vehicles and motorcycles.
• Square formats for 4x4, JDM, hexagonal and large sizes.
• Gel, acrylic and ghost or pyramid effect finishes.
• Options to buy as a single plate or as a pair.

The catalogue includes specific references such as the pair of regular number plates with HD printing, the pair of single-layer gel 4D plates with a smooth raised finish, the pair of 5 mm thick laser-cut acrylic 4D plates, the 4D flag-badged laser-cut acrylic plates, the pair of negative inverted dimensional 4D plates and the luxury bubble contoured 4D plates. A Diamond Retro line is also offered with a faceted 3D effect 6 mm deep, inspired by pre-1950s number plates and customisable with borders, badges and custom shapes.

Customisation and bespoke projects

In addition to the catalogue references, the company develops fully bespoke commissions. One documented example is a set of plates designed, crafted and fitted for a Ford Focus RS, adjusted to match the vehicle's grille. The company notes that its team works on unique designs and that customers can bring special concepts to life.

Flags and badges

Nom Plates produces miniature flags using laser cutting and acrylic layer stacking. Its designs include the flags of England, Wales, Scotland and the United Kingdom, all of which are road-legal according to the company. These pieces are integrated into the number plates as a decorative and personalisation element.

Turnaround, warranty and coverage

The company advertises a one-day turnaround and a two-year on-the-road warranty. The site mentions shipping to destinations such as Australia, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man, in addition to its activity in the United Kingdom. The headquarters is identified as Blackburn.
