earX is a mobile ear health service that performs ear wax removal at home. Its CPD-certified technicians offer a safe and efficient service with the aim of ensuring the patient does not have to travel: care is provided in their own home. The company presents itself as a trusted partner in ear health and places ear protection, well-being and client safety at the centre of every procedure.

Available procedures

The service is built around two main techniques:

• Microsuction: ear wax removal procedure using controlled suction.
• Water irrigation: cleaning procedure using irrigation.

The website also mentions ear cleaning and ear syringing among the practices associated with the service.

The mobile audiology services cover a large area of South Essex. The locations expressly mentioned are Canvey (Canvey Island), South Benfleet, Benfleet, Thundersley, Bowers Gifford and Hadleigh, as well as the surrounding areas. The company invites you to get in touch if your location is not among those listed.

The published catalogue indicates that the examination/consultation together with the water irrigation or microsuction procedure in Canvey Island, Benfleet, Thundersley and Bowers Gifford costs £45 per person for both ears, and £80 for two people. After a short medical history, the ears are examined and the patient is informed of the findings; if no wax is found, a charge of £25 applies.

For returning customers, the rates indicated are £40 per person for cleaning both ears in those same locations, and £20 for the consultation when no debris is detected and no cleaning is required. For appointments outside the area, the website refers to its pricing page or telephone enquiry.
