About Nubo

Nubo, the kids' posture pillow for nighttime breathing

Nubo is a British company that sells a posture pillow for children, presented as the UK's number one in its category. The product aims to keep the head aligned, the mouth closed and nasal breathing throughout the night. The company states that more than 30,000 parents have chosen this pillow for their children.

The range comes in three sizes covering ages 1 to 18: 2-3 years, 3-8 years and 8-18 years. The company maintains that the most decisive stage is early childhood, since the palate does most of its growing before the age of nine and mouth-breathing habits can still be corrected more easily. It also offers a cotton pillowcase as an accessory.

Origin of the project

The company's story begins with the personal experience of its founder, Sophie, who spent ten years working as a product manager. When her son started snoring and breathing through his mouth, she looked into the subject and found that sleep specialists link the way a child breathes at night to their facial development. Unable to find a pillow on the market designed for this, she developed her own. The process took eighteen months, with the help of paediatric sleep dentists and dozens of prototypes, tested first on her own children.

Materials and safety

The pillow is made with hypoallergenic memory foam with OEKO-TEX certification. The company states that it contains no formaldehyde, heavy metals or BPA, that it is dust-mite resistant and breathable, and that the cover is removable and machine washable. According to its presentation, every component meets strict child safety standards.

How it works and how to use it

The design features three zones that cradle the head naturally, with no need to adopt a particular position. The shape prevents the head from tilting back, which according to the company causes the mouth to fall open during sleep. The company notes that most children adapt within one or two nights and that many parents tell them their children won't sleep without it after the first week.

As for timelines, the company describes a gradual progression: quieter breathing and fewer mouth-open wake-ups are usually noticed between the fifth and seventh night; by around night fourteen the snoring settles and the lips stay sealed; and the more visible changes, such as a clearer jawline or fading dark circles, tend to appear between day 21 and 30. The company recommends using it every night, as the effect builds over time.

Guarantee, shipping and payment

Nubo offers a 30-night trial: if the child sleeps with the pillow during that period and no improvements are seen in mouth breathing, snoring, dark circles or the jaw, the company refunds the full amount with no need to return the product in its original packaging. Shipping is free across the UK and the stated timeframe is 6 to 12 working days. The store accepts American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, PayPal, Shop Pay, Bancontact, Cartes Bancaires, EPS and MobilePay.
