Coffee Bean Shop
Kent family roastery founded by Lizzie Powell, with single origins, blends, green beans, subscriptions, and hospitality supplies.
About Coffee Bean Shop
Coffee Bean Shop began in a Kent garage in 2008, when Lizzie Powell set out to create a family roastery connected with small coffee farms. The company still roasts in Kent and organizes its selection around different origins, blends, and seasonal lots. The garage story now continues through a team combining sourcing, roasting, order preparation, and customer service.
The store presents more than fifty coffees and two new roasts each week. Beans are roasted to order on traditional flame-powered equipment, with whole-bean and ground options. Single origins emphasize one region; blends create their own combination. Decaffeinated coffees and unroasted green beans add other choices, including products for home roasters.
Colombian Bucaramanga and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe are among its regular references. Jamaican Blue Mountain comes from Wallenford Estate, while Nepalese Mount Everest is a washed coffee from Nuwakot Single Estate. The store describes the latter with floral notes, gentle citrus, spices, chocolate, and berry sweetness. These product characteristics help compare lots without attributing one shared flavor to all of them.
Producer relationships are part of how the company develops its catalog. Powell describes farm visits and direct arrangements; the roasting team includes Nagendra, from Nepal, whose connection with the country helps explore its coffees. Monsoon Malabar, Hawaiian Kona Tango, and Peruvian Tunki also appear among the staff’s store recommendations.
Bundles group several coffees for tasting or giving. Seasonal Bundle changes its selection, and 6 Bags Around the World offers a journey through different origins. Bean To Cup Starter Pack and other packages provide different purchase formats. Subscriptions schedule deliveries and allow customers to pause, skip, or cancel future orders through their account under the service’s terms.
For cafés, restaurants, and other businesses, Coffee Bean Shop offers wholesale supplies, private-label roasting, and practical barista training. AeroPress and filter papers appear among brewing accessories. Guides and the blog support coffee preparation, while gift cards leave product selection to the recipient.
The roastery is at Unit 13, Connect 10, Ashford Business Park, Foster Road, Ashford TN24 0FE. Online shopping connects that base with United Kingdom customers; the family story also includes Coffee Bean Shop Middle East, led by Matthew Paice for Dubai and the Gulf region. Selection, format, and ordering frequency are the three decisions that organize a customer’s relationship with the store.
