Baby Name Pictures

Baby Name Pictures: original watercolour illustration from Devon

Baby Name Pictures is the studio of illustrator Kate Garrett, based in Devon (United Kingdom). It specialises in the design and hand-painting of name pictures, nursery decor and personalised gifts, all created in traditional watercolour and made individually for each client. The website states that each piece is illustrated by hand and shared with the buyer through progress photos before dispatch.

Name pictures and bespoke art

The studio's speciality is hand-painted name pictures, created as original artwork for each child. The catalogue presents them as luxury personalised gifts to celebrate a birth, a christening or a special milestone. They are available framed and unframed, and the starting price indicated on the website is £80. In addition, the studio produces house portraits, family scenes and meaningful places, as well as illustrations of wedding venues, intended as gifts for weddings, anniversaries and family events.

Nursery decor and children's illustration

The catalogue includes a range of nursery decor with original illustrations: height charts, nursery clocks, personalised door signs, wall decals, art prints and original animal paintings. Designs are organised by themes such as woodland animals, farm and tractors, fairies and magical motifs, jungle animals, vehicles and transport, and seaside motifs. There are also specific options for boys and girls, and initial designs.

Gifts by occasion and by recipient

The shop organises part of its range by occasion and by recipient. Categories include gifts for babies, christening gifts, birthday gifts for children and adults, wedding and anniversary gifts, Easter gifts and gifts for farmers, horse and pony lovers, cows, dogs and pets. There are also gifts for mums and dads, and stocking fillers. Baby gift prices are grouped into bands: under £15, under £30, under £50 and over £50.

Pet and farm animal portraits

The studio paints watercolour portraits of pets and farm animals — dogs, cats, horses and farm animals — from the client's photographs, in an illustrated and expressive style. This line is presented as a personal gift for animal lovers and for the rural setting.
