About Bromford Homes
Bromford Homes: new shared ownership and outright sale homes in England
Bromford Homes is the new home sales division of Bromford, a housing association that has spent six decades providing affordable housing for people without access to the conventional housing market. As well as building its own shared ownership and private sale developments, it partners with renowned developers to offer stylish, affordable and secure homes for those facing barriers to traditional homeownership.
Shared ownership and outright sale: two routes to homeownership
Bromford Homes' commercial activity is built around two models. The first is shared ownership, a scheme that allows buyers to purchase a percentage of the home and pay rent on the remaining share, designed for those taking their first steps onto the property ladder. The second is full ownership. The company follows Homes England guidelines on first come, first served policies for its shared ownership homes, and refers to its specific policy for more details.
The company's website includes a search tool for available homes by location and a featured developments section, as well as a resource hub with articles and FAQs about buying a Bromford home, whether through shared ownership or full ownership.
Collaboration with leading developers
To expand its offering, Bromford Homes works with developer partners such as Barratt Homes, Bellway, Redrow Homes, Taylor Wimpey and Bloor Homes, among others. This collaboration allows the organisation to market new-build homes in locations where it does not develop its own projects.
A housing association with a social dimension
Bromford, the parent company of Bromford Homes, manages a portfolio of 46,000 homes and serves more than 110,000 customers. Its core business covers the management and maintenance of social and affordable housing, the development of social rented and shared ownership homes, and neighbourhood coaching. The organisation also rents out garages and commercial premises.
Bromford customers live in 39 local authority areas across the West of England and the West Midlands, with more than half concentrated in four areas: South Gloucestershire, Tewkesbury, Cotswold and Lichfield, where it is the main provider of social housing.
Expansion plan to 2030
The organisation's strategy includes building 11,000 new houses, bungalows and apartments over the seven years to 2030. Over the four years to 2027, Bromford aims to become the biggest developer of affordable homes in Gloucestershire and the wider M5 corridor, and continues to operate in the West Midlands and West of England regions. The 2023-2027 strategic plan sets out eight objectives, including place-based working, improving home standards, proactive maintenance and compliance.
