BSquaredTuition is a maths tuition service delivered online and one-to-one. Its approach focuses on creating a learning environment where students can explore maths with confidence and enthusiasm, tailoring each session to the student's specific needs.

Approach to lessons

The company's method is based on the idea that not all students learn in the same way. That's why every lesson is personalised and directed towards the areas that are most difficult, while still making the most of strengths. The process begins by identifying gaps in understanding and continues with clear explanations and plenty of practice with exam-style questions. Lessons are interactive and relaxed, and aim to encourage students to ask questions without worrying about making mistakes. As confidence grows, so do results.

The service is aimed at students who need support to pass, who want to improve their grades, or who are aiming for the highest marks. The stated goal is to make maths feel manageable, enjoyable and achievable.

Teaching team

The team consists of Ollie and Jonah. Ollie is a Finance BSc graduate and has worked with maths students of all abilities. He says he particularly enjoys seeing a student go from saying they can't solve a problem to solving it independently within a few weeks, and he focuses on helping students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

Jonah is a BSc (Hons) graduate from the University of Surrey and has been tutoring maths for two years, helping KS3 and GCSE students improve both their confidence and their results. He says one of his first students went from a U grade to a grade 4 in GCSE Maths. His aim is for every lesson to be positive, engaging and productive.

Progress tracking and commitment to families

The company understands that it is important for families to see the student's progress. That's why every six weeks it sends a personalised update detailing the progress made, the areas worked on and the next steps in learning.

Resources and benefits for the student

• Access to a growing library of free revision resources, including every GCSE Maths exam question organised by topic.
• Worksheets, exam tips and practice materials to support learning between sessions.
• A free 20-minute initial consultation to get to know the student, understand their goals, answer questions and explain how lessons are tailored to their learning style.
• Referral programme: when you refer a friend, once they have completed 6 hours of tuition, you receive a free one-hour session; there is no limit to the number of people you can refer.

Booking policy and contact

Sessions are non-refundable. However, if you give at least 48 hours' notice, the session can be rescheduled to a more convenient time. The company states that it aims to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours.
