About OSTA - Organización Sindical de Trabajadores y Trabajadoras de Aragón
Workers’ representation in Aragón
OSTA is the Organización Sindical de Trabajadores y Trabajadoras de Aragón, a union operating in Spain’s Aragón region. Its structure includes federations for services and related fields, public services, and industry, as well as governing bodies such as the National Council, National Executive, and Guarantees Commission.
Labor advocacy and campaigns
The union focuses on collective bargaining, challenging poor working conditions, and organizing demonstrations. Recent actions include signing the first staffing plan in Comarca Central, with an agreement to gradually reduce the workweek to 35 hours, and filing a complaint with the Labor Inspectorate about heat-related risks in Zaragoza’s in-home care service.
OSTA has also taken part in labor disputes in building cleaning, hospitality, care services, and industry. It has called or supported strikes, including an open-ended strike at Sarga and a strike by the works council at Proma Hispania S.A. The union has met with parliamentary groups and the Government Delegate to call for policies on care services.
Presence and communications
OSTA is active in communities across Aragón, especially Zaragoza and Jaca. It shares campaigns and news through its website, Facebook, X, and Instagram and publishes a regular newsletter.
