History

The company traces its roots to 1970, when Ernesto del Río partnered with a pastry workshop in Zaragoza. Lapasion Internacional was incorporated in 1987 to expand into new territories, and in the 1990s the company began acquiring factories and expanding across Spain. It started exporting in 1996, initially to France, Andorra, Portugal, Belgium, and Italy; in the 21st century it strengthened its presence in Europe and entered the U.S. market.

Lapasión manufactures its products at three plants, each with its own brand:
