Mecanizados Kapelamendi, S.L.L. was founded in 2005 in Vitoria-Gasteiz and manufactures specialized industrial machinery and customer-drawing parts. Its 6,500-square-meter plant at 3 Capelamendi Street in Betoño Industrial Park includes 5,323 square meters of covered space and brings machining, assembly, painting, warehousing, and quality control together under one roof.

Production Capacity and Equipment

The company’s machinery is suited to large and heavy workpieces and includes eight overhead cranes rated up to 50 tons. Equipment includes:

• Vertical lathes for parts up to 3,800 mm in diameter
• Horizontal lathes for parts up to 3,000 mm long
• Column boring mills with capacity up to 5,000 × 2,500 mm
• Milling machines with travel up to 5,000 mm
• Cylindrical and surface grinders, drills, and slotters
• Automatic welding equipment

For dimensional inspection, Kapelamendi uses a Stiefelmayer-Zeiss coordinate measuring machine with capacity of 2,400 × 1,400 × 1,200 mm, along with calipers, micrometers, and probes.

• Machining individual or short-run large, heavy parts weighing up to 12 tons
• Assembly of components and subassemblies
• Building, repairing, and assembling custom machinery to customer drawings, up to 50 tons

Kapelamendi primarily serves steelmaking, wind energy, cement, and paper, as well as manufacturers of mechanical and hydraulic presses, specialized machinery, and capital equipment.
