Custom Machining and Machinery

Mecanizados Kapelamendi, S.L.L. was founded in Vitoria-Gasteiz in 2005. The company makes and machines parts to customer drawings and builds, repairs, and assembles specialized industrial machinery. Its work serves industries including steelmaking, mechanical and hydraulic presses, wind power, energy, cement, paper, specialized machinery, and capital equipment.

Production Capacity and Equipment

Kapelamendi machines large, heavy parts weighing up to 12 tons, in short runs or as individual pieces. It also assembles components and subassemblies and builds custom machinery to customer drawings weighing up to 50 tons. Its 6,500-square-meter facility includes 5,323 square meters of covered space, with areas for machining, assembly, painting, storage, and quality control. Eight overhead cranes have capacities of up to 50 tons.

Key equipment includes:

• Vertical lathes with capacities up to 3,800 mm in diameter
• Horizontal lathes with capacities up to 3,000 mm in length
• Column boring mills with capacities up to 5,000 × 2,500 mm
• Milling machines with capacities up to 5,000 mm
• Cylindrical and surface grinders, drills, slotters, and automatic welding equipment
• A Stiefelmayer-Zeiss coordinate measuring machine with a 2,400 × 1,400 × 1,200 mm measuring range

Quality

AENOR has certified Kapelamendi's quality management system to ISO 9001:2015. To inspect finished products, the company uses metrology equipment including calipers, micrometers, probes, and the coordinate measuring machine described above.

ONATEK Group

Kapelamendi belongs to ONATEK, a group of three complementary production centers. Alongside machining and machinery manufacturing, the group includes Steel Solutions, which handles boilerwork, welding, metal structures, and off-site assembly, and Engineering Control, which specializes in industrial process automation and control. ONATEK offers services ranging from outsourced part production to turnkey complex machinery and prototypes.
