A Cosmetics Business with More Than Two Centuries of History

Productos LEA is the cosmetics division of Lascaray S.A., a company founded in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Álava, Spain, in 1823. The company describes itself as the oldest in Álava and marked 200 years in business in 2023. It began as a tallow candle factory, later moved into soapmaking, and began manufacturing shaving products in the 1920s. Now led by the sixth generation of the Lascaray family, the company has two main businesses: fatty acid splitting and cosmetics.

Productos LEA develops, manufactures, and sells a wide range of personal hygiene and cosmetic products:

• Women: Hair removal, deodorants, makeup removers, intimate hygiene, dermocosmetics, bath and shower products, wet wipes, and sanitizing products
• Personal care: Dermocosmetics, deodorants, and bath and shower products
• Hotels and travel: Toiletries and guest amenities
• Children: Products for children

The brand describes itself as a reference for traditional and modern shaving in Spain and Europe, with a growing presence in personal hygiene and cosmetics.

Facilities and Production

The company’s current headquarters is in the Arriaga Industrial Zone in Vitoria-Gasteiz, where it moved production between 1973 and 1975. In 2016, it began a comprehensive renovation of its cosmetics facilities to create clean rooms with different classifications and controlled environments under ISO 14644. The new 2,000-square-meter facility is used to produce, inspect, and package cosmetics.

2025 Factory Fire

A fire severely damaged the company’s facilities on June 20, 2025. According to published information, the company began rebuilding quickly and reaffirmed its commitment to continuing and adapting its operations.
