Artero
Artero brings together tools, cosmetics, and equipment for dog grooming, equine care, and professional hairstyling, with stores in Vilassar de Dalt, Barcelona, and Madrid.
About Artero
Artero began in Manresa in 1909, when Pascual Artero started selling tools for shearing horses. In 1918, the next generation moved the business to Barcelona and opened a shop with a sharpening service; in 1946, the store moved to Call Street. The company bought its first warehouse in Vilassar de Dalt in 1993 and, after growing, moved in 2022 to a warehouse of more than 7,000 square meters.
The Pet Care line includes shampoos, conditioners, fragrances, brushes, combs, scissors, clippers, dryers, grooming tubs, and tables for dog grooming. Products serve professional groomers as well as people caring for their dogs’ coats at home. The catalog also includes hygiene accessories for dogs and cats.
Artero’s Hair Tools line includes scissors, clippers, dryers, flat irons, brushes, and accessories for hairstylists and barbers. Scissors are organized by technique, with straight, curved, thinning, micro-serrated, and left-handed models. The company also sells replacement parts and provides repair and sharpening services for selected equipment.
Equine care connects the current business to its beginnings. The Equine Care line includes products and tools for looking after horses, returning to the shearing work that marked the company’s early years. Rather than operating as a general pet store, Artero organizes its offer around specific trades: dog grooming, professional hairstyling, barbering, and horse care.
Artero has three stores in Spain. Its headquarters and store in Vilassar de Dalt are at C/ Narcís Monturiol, 2-4. In Barcelona, the shop at Call, 17 is near Plaça Sant Jaume; in Madrid, the store is on Paseo de la Habana, 44. These addresses matter because each location is part of the company’s retail network.
Schedules vary by store: Vilassar is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Barcelona opens Mondays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday through Friday with a midday break, and closes on weekends. Madrid is open weekdays and posts shorter hours in August. The official store page lists each location’s schedule before a visit.
Artero adds education and technical service to its retail operation. Artero International Academy trains dog groomers and has centers in several European countries. For blades, scissors, and selected appliances, the technical service receives the item, inspects it, and provides a quote before repair or sharpening. The brand therefore supports customers from the first purchase through routine equipment care.
