About Entretots
Rights and inclusion in the Penedès
Entretots is a nonprofit association based in the Penedès region of Catalonia that works to advance the rights of people with disabilities. Rather than running care services, it focuses on equality and social inclusion. Its motto captures its approach: address disability by building on people's abilities.
Areas of work
- Equality and justice: Advocates for rights before public agencies and institutions.
- Health and well-being: Values-based education workshops in schools and emotional support spaces, including a group for women with disabilities.
- Leisure and culture: Cultural activities, community radio, and “El racó de la poesia” (“The Poetry Corner”).
- Adapted sports: Organizes adapted aviation events and supports athletes with disabilities.
Community initiatives
Entretots participates in Vilafranca's municipal commission supporting people with disabilities and in the “Capacitats” program. It works with the ECOM Federation, which brings together organizations for people with physical and organic disabilities in Catalonia, and its president, Carme Garrido, serves on ECOM's board. The association also produces a radio program on Ripollet Ràdio, broadcast on the second Thursday of each month, and runs school awareness workshops titled “Els infants i els joves davant la discapacitat” (“Children and Young People Facing Disability”).
