About Samar't
License plates and signage
Samar't is a Spanish industrial company that manufactures and distributes license plates and signage. The company says it is the only manufacturer worldwide producing all four existing license plate systems: solid foil, double plate, acrylic plate, and hot stamping. Its products are distributed internationally, including in Spain, Germany, England, Mali, the Dominican Republic, and Angola.
Company history
Fernando Sánchez founded the company in Figueras, Girona, in 1942 as a workshop making bicycle parts and accessories. In 1966, Samar't began manufacturing seat belts, a business in which it went on to become a leader in Spain and Europe. It started producing license plates in 1969, and that is now its main activity. In 1990, the company moved its headquarters to Vilafant, Girona, on a site covering more than 40,000 square meters. Since 1996, it has developed its own machinery, allowing it to handle the entire manufacturing process.
