Automotive Metal Stamping

I. Fegosan is a metal-forming company specializing in cold stamping, primarily for structural and safety components used in the automotive industry. Founded in 1964 as a cutlery manufacturer, it shifted to automotive production in 1974. It became a supplier to Citroën and General Motors, followed later by Faurecia and ZF-TRW. Today, it exports 80% of its production.

Production Capacity

• Two production plants in Galicia with a combined area of 5,000 square meters.
• Nine mechanical presses rated from 45 to 400 tons, with automatic or manual feeding.
• Resistance welding with three welders, one of which has two heads.
• A robotic MIG/MAG welding cell with a dual rotary table.
• Automated insertion of studs and nuts.
• Supporting processes include automatic parts washers; bending and cutting of rod, flat bar, and tubing; and 3D-camera machine vision.

Services

I. Fegosan covers the full project cycle, from developing production processes for metal parts, designing tooling, and selecting machinery to making prototypes and validating the process. It also handles series production and maintains the process throughout the project’s life.

Quality and Certifications

The company’s management system is certified to IATF 16949. It has an in-house laboratory and full product traceability. I. Fegosan is a member of the CEAGA cluster and the AIMEN technology center and collaborates with CTAG.
