Work and inclusion through social enterprise

Fundació Areté is a social-economy enterprise affiliated with Osonament, the network of employment and social resources in the Osona region of Catalonia. Its main work is helping people with mental health conditions and barriers to employment enter the workforce. It operates through a special employment center and serves individuals, organizations, and businesses that value the social impact of their suppliers.

Products and services

• Woodworking: Handmade products include raised garden beds, wooden boxes, nesting boxes, bird feeders, and insect hotels. The workshop also makes wooden Christmas gift boxes, trays, and boxes in different sizes, many of them custom-made with no minimum order.
• Flyer delivery: A sustainable delivery service across Osona, with a fleet that includes electric vehicles.
• AretéSegonaMà: A shop in Vic's El Remei neighborhood selling restored and secondhand goods, with a focus on reducing waste through reuse and recycling.
• Promotional merchandise: The organization plans, designs, and makes promotional products.
• Food service: It operates food-service spaces, including the café and dining room at Casal Cívic de Torelló, known as BioArtCafè.

Community work and milestones

Fundació Areté is part of Osonament's employment and social-resource network and has earned certifications, affiliations, and recognition, with support from funders and partners. Recent milestones listed by the organization include expanding its electric-vehicle fleet; restoring habitats on the Plana de Vic with Grup de Naturalistes d'Osona by planting 4,500 trees and shrubs; and serving more than 12,500 meals at the Casal Cívic de Torelló café between 2025 and the first months of 2026.
