Rural development in western Asturias

Grupo de Desarrollo Rural Oscos–Eo (CEDER Oscos–Eo) channels and manages European funds for rural and fisheries development in western Asturias. Its work includes calls for applications, processing, and awarding of LEADER rural development and FEMPA fisheries development grants, along with cooperation and regional development projects.

Service area

The group serves seven Asturian municipalities: Castropol, San Martín de Oscos, San Tirso de Abres, Santa Eulalia de Oscos, Taramundi, Vegadeo, and Villanueva de Oscos. Its headquarters are in Vegadeo.

Programs and grants

  • LEADER 2023–2027: guidelines and calls, application documents, registration, prior notices, awards, strategy, and cooperation projects, including property clarification, Huella Cero, shared kitchens, local development, and the biosphere reserve.
  • FEMPA 2023–2027: fisheries development grants, guidelines, calls, documents, and strategy.
  • Earlier LEADER and FEMP grants: calls, documents, and strategies for 2014–2020.
  • Tourism and ecotourism plan: programs focused on sustainable tourism in the region.

Featured projects

Initiatives include Huella Cero Asturias, a cooperation project to measure and reduce the carbon footprint of rural agricultural, livestock, and food-processing businesses. The group also organized the 2026 Asturias Rural Woman recognition, with nominations open through September 4.
