The Spanish Society of Foot and Ankle Medicine and Surgery (SEMCPT) is a scientific society for professionals specializing in foot and ankle conditions. Its work focuses on continuing education, research, and specialized publications, while also providing a place for specialists to connect.

Scientific and educational programs

The society organizes an annual conference, roundtables, and hands-on and classroom courses. Courses listed for 2026 include the 19th Practical Course in Surgical Techniques for Foot and Ankle Surgery (November 5–6), the 5th Cadaver Lab in Percutaneous Surgery (November 6), Surgical Approaches to the Ankle and Distal Tibia (November 13), and Controversies and Challenges in Complex Ankle and Pilon Fractures (November 14). It also offers webinars and a scholarship and awards program to support members' careers.

Publications

SEMCPT publishes the Journal of the Foot and Ankle, along with continuing education monographs and guides for residents, all available online. It also publishes regular newsletters and a podcast.

Certification and international connections

The society processes European Foot and Ankle Society (EFAS) certification and membership applications. EFAS offers courses, fellowship programs, and access to publications.
