Entrelanados
An online school devoted to woven mandalas, with video classes taught by Julia Almanza and a student community spanning several countries.
About Entrelanados
An online school for woven mandalas
Entrelanados is an online school focused on woven mandalas, which it describes as the first school devoted entirely to this art form. Courses and workshops are delivered through the school’s website, with video lessons and downloadable supporting materials.
Courses and learning format
Courses cover different woven-mandala patterns and techniques, with some incorporating macramé and dreamcatcher-making. The school also offers a textile jewelry course. All classes are online: students sign in to the website and work at their own pace, with unlimited access to course materials while the platform remains active. Some classes include live sessions on Google Meet or Zoom, which are recorded for later viewing. The videos themselves cannot be downloaded, although attached files can.
Instructor and student community
Julia Almanza teaches the courses, guiding students through the lessons and sharing her background, influences, and techniques. The school runs a private Facebook group, Comunidad Mandalera Entrelanados, where students exchange ideas, tips, and projects. Testimonials on the website come from students in Spain and Chile.
Materials and who can join
The website also sells 5-millimeter wooden rods in 25- and 50-centimeter lengths, used as supports for weaving mandalas. Classes are open to beginners unless a specific course says otherwise. The school connects mandala weaving with relaxation, concentration, and creativity.
