A hose that stores inside the wall

Retraflex is a retractable hose system designed for central vacuum installations. The hose stores automatically inside the tubing just behind the inlet, using suction from the central unit. It does not need separate storage space and remains available at each vacuum inlet.

How it works

Pull the black handle to the length of hose needed; this locks the hose in place and starts the system automatically. Press the red switch to stop vacuuming and press it again to restart. When finished, push the handle to retract the hose, disconnect the attachments, and place a hand over the opening so the hose retracts into the tubing. Close the inlet door to turn off the system.

Installation

The Retraflex inlet is secured to wall studs in North American construction or to a masonry wall in Europe, then connected to the tubing and low-voltage wires. Once the wall is finished and the paint is dry, remove the cover plate and install the door. The company says a professional should install the central vacuum and tubing system according to the manufacturer’s instructions. For a home under construction, the required material comes as a single piece.
