Wine experiences in Penedès

Vinatur specializes in wine tourism in Catalonia's Penedès region, near Barcelona. It arranges guided visits to wineries, vineyards, and cava cellars, paired with wine or cava tastings. Owner Ciska van Schagen has lived in the area for more than 20 years and personally guides some experiences.

Tours and activities

Vinatur lists experiences with set durations and starting prices:

• Winery and vineyard visit with wine tasting: about two hours, from €20 per person.
• E-bike or Segway tour: three hours, including a winery, underground cellars, vineyard, and tasting; from €50 per person.
• Make your own cava: two hours, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.; includes a winery and cellar visit and tasting; from €49 per person.
• Mehari tour: 1.5 hours, with a glass of cava or wine and appetizers; from €65 per person.
• Wine tasting with cheese or chocolate: about 2.5 hours, including a winery, cellars, and vineyard; from €37 per person.
• Picasso-inspired painting workshop: three hours, with a painting workshop, winery visit, and wine tasting; from €60 per person.

Vinatur can also bring tastings to a location chosen by the customer, such as a home, vacation rental, sailboat, beach, or vineyard. Options include:

• Cava tasting: two hours, five different cavas with regional treats, €35 per person.
• Penedès wines and cavas: two hours, six wines with regional treats, €29 per person.

Listed prices are based on groups of eight or more; smaller groups are asked to contact the company about availability and terms.

Local wineries and regional culture

The company works with selected Penedès wineries, from well-known producers to lesser-known cellars, and adapts experiences to customers' interests. Its website also features regional topics such as Parellada and Xarel·lo grapes, the Vinseum wine museum in Vilafranca del Penedès, the Corpinnat collective, and local family-run projects.
