Metal Coatings and Surface Treatment

Vila Electroquímica S.A. has more than 45 years of experience applying metal coatings, including hard chrome, nickel, copper, and combinations of these materials, at varying thicknesses on a wide range of surfaces. Along with its electrolytic-plating facilities, the company has a machining department for turning, grinding, balancing, and characterizing surfaces on new and repair parts.

The work is intended to improve or restore a part’s performance, corrosion protection, and surface properties to customer specifications. The company also advises customers on potential improvements based on its experience.

Processes and Finishes

• Electroplating: hard chrome, nickel, copper, and multilayer coatings.
• Surface finishes: matte, polished, and LFS treatment.
• In-house products: copper sleeves, electroformed nickel, nickel tubes, coils, pistons, crowns, and support bearings.
• Additional services: balanced welding, precision grinding, internal cleaning, degassing, roller repair, and HVOF coating.

Quality and Certifications

The company operates under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 certifications, with product traceability and process controls. It has its own laboratory and testing equipment to monitor and improve treatments.

Research and Development

Vila Electroquímica participated in NANOED, a project developing advanced nanotechnology-based coatings through electrodeposition. The project received co-funding from the European Regional Development Fund through Cantabria’s 2014–2020 ERDF Operational Program (INNOVA 2021).
