Solvay’s Operations in Spain

Solvay España is the Spanish subsidiary of international chemical group Solvay. Its presence in Spain dates to 1904, when a plant for producing caustic soda and soda ash was built in Torrelavega, Cantabria. Today, the company employs about 350 people and operates one work site, in Torrelavega.

Internationally, the group sells chemical products and solutions in categories such as soda ash, sodium bicarbonate and derivatives, peroxides, high-performance silica, fluorine chemicals, rare earths and metal oxides, oxygenated solvents, and phenol, polyamides, and intermediates. The company publishes corporate materials, including transparency statements and nonfinancial information reports.
