Fundació Pere Badia

Care for older adults in Torredembarra

Fundació Pere Badia is a nonprofit charitable care organization based in Torredembarra, Tarragona. Its roots date to 1824, when it was established as a Hospital of Charity serving poor residents of the town. Since 1997, it has focused on older adults, especially people who need daily support, from Torredembarra and nearby communities.

Services

• Assisted living residence: Operates under an agreement with the Government of Catalonia, in place since December 2009.
• Day center: Opened in 2011 after renovation of the former cloister, with expanded capacity. The service has operated under a Catalan government agreement since January 1, 2015.

Accreditation

The foundation has held partner-center accreditation from the Government of Catalonia and has been designated an accredited center since 2021.

Building and location

The current residence building opened in 2001 next to the former Hospital of Charity. It is in central Torredembarra, near the bus and train stations, with public and private parking within 300 meters.
